This farmhouse, built circa 1886, has a way of becoming home. Many have called it home over the last 100+ years. As time passed and milestones and moments accumulated, we realized it was time to care for the house the way the house cared for us, our family, and our friends.

We bought the farmhouse in 2000 not

sure if we would even move in.

Then we accidentally raised our kids here.

As we added on and remodeled, we wanted to keep as much original as possible. Although the space is modernized, there are hidden gems revealed everywhere.

In the final product you will see things previously hidden for years, such as the original exterior wall in the living room. The sliding workroom doors, ceiling beams, and kitchen shelving are reclaimed wood from the original sub-flooring. This rough-cut wood is over 200 years old!

Remodeling this home has been a collaboration between us and what the house had to share. We peeled back layers and layers. The wallpaper was like a history lesson. We found old letters and memorabilia in the walls–one of which included a wish for the house to be a place of rest to all who come here. That wish certainly continues for us today.

Over the years, many people spontaneously stop by. They reminisce about their time living in or visiting the old farmhouse. It is a house meant to be shared. This home stands with over 130 years of families and friends. It holds the memories it creates as people grow, raise children, and celebrate life.

We open our doors so this can continue to be a place where people come together and feel at home.
